Last night the Dallas Cowboys mounted an amazing 2-minute drill, marching 80 yards downfield to snatch a last minute victory away from the stunned New York Giants. Even if you are not a football fan, it was something to behold. It appeared that the Giants thought they had the game in hand, and that they could not be beaten. After all, they were ahead by 6, leaving the Cowboys very little time to overcome supposedly "insurmountable" odds. It was a given, right? Wrong.
I hope Donald Trump watched that game last night. Just by being ahead late in the game, doesn't guarantee you will win. It is very possible for one of the other candidates, particularly (at this point) Ben Carson and Ted Cruz, to run a last-minute surge and win the game. VERY possible. There have been a LOT of "Hail Mary" plays in elections. In 2008, Hillary was supposed to beat Barack Obama, and she acted as though she had the nomination in the bag. Ditto for Romney in the general election. Remember the famous newspaper headline, "Dewey Defeats Truman?"
Donald, are you watching?
